- Supervising activities on large scale residential, industrial, and commercial developments in and around Calgary, specific duties would include:
- Managing all aspects of subdivision construction including earthworks, underground installations, concrete work, paving and shallow utility installations.
- Coordinating activities with developers, builders, contractors and utility companies
- Directing surveyors and inspectors on multiple sites
- Maintaining public relations with clients and City of Calgary
- Administering construction contracts
- Approving contractor payments, including negotiations on quantities and force accounts as required
- Organizing and leading onsite construction meetings
- Mentoring and training junior field supervisors in all aspects of subdivision development
- Diploma at an accredited institution in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent is an asset
- Minimum of ten years' experience in engineering, consulting or construction.
- Familiarity with the City of Calgary guidelines including CCC and FAC process
- Must have strong people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of staff and clients
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task is critical
- Must be able to meet deadlines, well organized and able to work under pressure
- AutoCAD experience, ideally Civil 3D would be an asset
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must provide own vehicle for business use, which will be reimbursed on a per kilometer basis
