Position overview


The
Asset Reliability Lead (Plumbing and Mechanical) is a challenging and engaging role, one where you will be accountable for the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of numerous systems and assets that are under the purview of the plant maintenance team.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Provides oversight for the maintenance, repair and construction of Vancouver Airport Authority plumbing and mechanical assets including:
  • Sanitary and storm systems, gravity and pumped
  • Potable water distribution, cross connection control administration and ensuring the YVR potable water program guidelines are adhered to
  • Plumbing systems
  • Heating, cooling plants and HVAC systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Natural gas and fuel oil distribution
  • Providing support for YVR capital projects, designing through handover, and ensuring YVR specifications, applicable codes and standards are followed
  • Provide contractor and internal lockout reviews and approvals

Key qualifications include:


  • At least ten years of progressive work experience in an airport and/or industrial plant environment (preference will be given for supervisory experience overseeing construction or maintenance in a large commercial or industrial setting), supplemented by a Red Seal Certification in Plumbing, a Class B gas license and a cross connection control certification; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Fourth Class Power Engineer certificate is an asset
  • Knowledgeable regarding governing building, plumbing and mechanical codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • The ability to work in a complex fast paced environment, dealing with multiple projects, stakeholders, project managers, consultants and contractors
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and technical skills
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, pay attention to details and complete deliverables
  • Experience conducting and facilitating field reviews and inspections as part of life cycle assessments and repairs
  • Proven experience developing and reviewing engineering specifications and standards for a variety of disciplines

Salary Range:
$86,326 to $112,823 per annum, based on 40 hours per week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
