- Jule_ has been delivering successful projects over a wide range of industries, including community energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and microgrid development.
Overview:
The Controller will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the company by assisting in the management of accounting and financial operations.
This position involves overseeing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's financial objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and provide insight to support decisionmaking by senior management.
- Assist in the development of financial reports and dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
Accounting Operations:
- Supervise and review the work of the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the monthend and yearend close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with external audits, including providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the finance team to support the annual budgeting process.
- Assist in the development of financial forecasts and projections.
- Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department.
- Participate in the implementation of new financial systems or tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including procurement, operations, and sales, to ensure alignment on financial goals and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies, as needed.
Training and Development:
- Mentor and develop finance team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Stay current with accounting and financial industry trends and regulations and share insights with the team.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills.
- Detailoriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead by example.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP, Excel).
