Description
The
Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), will provide immediate Advanced Life Support medical care when summoned without delay, properly triage, advise and/or arrange for timely transport to a health care facility as needed.
This is a full-time opportunity within the Northwest Territories. This is a fly-in, fly-out position (flying out of Edmonton), with a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation in a camp setting. Job starts in October 202- Health Benefits/Employee Assistance Program/LTD Provided

Duties/Responsibilities
- Act in a professional manner that ensures the patient's dignity, safety, privacy and confidentiality, and decisionmaking are maintained
- Provide immediate and professional medical care to injured workers onsite, and to arrange timely transport to the nearest medical care facility
- Read, understand, and comply with DXP | HSE Integrated safety and medical services policies, Workplace Scope of Practice Guidelines, Medical Control Guidelines, as well as all applicable government laws and regulations.
- Work within the ACP scope of practice determined by the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP), utilizing the DXP | HSE medical control guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Previous working experience as a ACP at an ALS level
- Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Pushing / pulling (patients / objects)
- Sitting / driving
- Bending / kneeling / crouching
- Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind / snow)
Required Certifications & Training
- Current ACP license or certification with a paramedic governing body in Canada without conditions or restrictions.
- Valid, unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated. (Class 4 driver's license)
- It would be considered an asset to have Audio and Fit Testing training.
