Children's Centre Thunder Bay works together with families, caregivers and a community of partners to make a real difference in the quality of life of children and youth.

We are an accredited, not-for-profit organization providing treatment and support services for children and youth, from birth to 18 years, who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, developmental or social difficulties.

The Centre is currently seeking to fill the following position:

(One) Temporary Part Time Receptionist

Union Position - Temporary Contract until September 2023

Varied hours of work, including some evenings until 8:00 pm


Salary:
$ $23.05

Plus 15% in lieu of benefits, vacation and holiday pay


This would be a great opportunity for a student who has an interest in the work we do at the Centre.


Responsibilities:

The Receptionist is responsible for receiving and directing incoming requests for information or service in a timely manner.

They are required to manage the flow of visitors in and out of the centre, connect clients to the appropriate case manager or area of service, recording accurate telephone messages, manage the flow of documents in and out of the Centre, access clinical staff through the crisis schedule, and greet visitors as they enter.

The Receptionist receives all clients and visitors to the Centre and announces their arrival to appropriate staff. They are responsible for the coordination of client transportation and maintaining the Centre's vehicle log books. The Receptionist also provides secretarial and data entry support, as required.


Qualifications:


The Receptionist position requires a minimum of Grade 12 education and experience in all aspects of switchboard and reception operation.

The Receptionist must relate well to children and families, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

They must be able to manage the flow of people and related information in and out of the Centre including clients, other professionals and the general public.

Certification of CPR/First Aid is required. Excellent computer and typing skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure are required. The Receptionist shall ensure client confidentiality at all times. Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
