- Assist in preparing monthly internal financial statements in accordance with ASPE
- Prepare fixed-asset schedules
- Audit and monitor the accuracy of accounting transactions
- Assist with accounts receivable including invoice preparation in accordance with contract terms and conditions and follow up appropriately to ensure on-time payment
- Assist with accounts payable and purchase order adjustments
- Prepare monthly GST/PST returns and researching of appropriate GST/PST treatment as required
- Assist with inventory management and adjustments
- Assist with year end financial statement preparations
- Prepare journal entries for transactions occurring as needed
- Maintain the integrity of internal controls and processes
- Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting
- Enrolled in or intention to enroll in CPA program to work toward obtaining CPA designation
- A good understanding of full-cycle accounting
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation, with the ability to accurately prepare and enter financial information to meet deadline and requirements
- A strong knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with Sage 50 is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset
