The purpose of the Project Coordinator/Estimator role is to support the Project Managers, ensure communication on a project, project completion with outstanding quality, and safety on each and every jobsite.


Responsibilities:


  • Assisting in preparing budgets and construction schedules, setting up project administration files;
  • With direction from the Project Managers and the Senior Management team, initiating and maintaining correspondence with owner, architect, engineers, subtrades and suppliers, project employees and foremen;
  • Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and subtrades and obtaining quotes;
  • Assist with and/or clarifying scope of work with subtrades and suppliers, and K.I.B. foremen and work force;
  • Develop successful relationships with current and prospective clients and consultants;
  • Ensuring there is a continuous focus on safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our company health and safety policy;
  • Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies
  • Assist and prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, quotes, and tender;
  • Monitor and coordinate daily activities with the client, contractors, foremen, project employees, other consultants, and the approving authority;
  • Manage all aspects of projects and implement contract documents;
  • Assist with initial mobilization and set up of the construction site;
  • Ensure the efficient use of labor, machines, and materials used by the crew;
  • Take an active role in the selection, training, assignment and supervision of project staff, including monitoring performance, providing feedback and taking corrective action;
  • Perform periodic field inspections of projects both prior to and during construction to determine compliance with approved plans and regulations at the request of inspectors;
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports and records;
  • Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications, the city codes and ordinances regarding building codes, permit issuance, and permit fees;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Prior experience as a project coordinator is an asset
  • Bachelor of Architecture or related education
  • Construction Estimator certificate preferred
  • Skilled in reading construction documents, understanding construction scopes and specifications, and exterior restoration
  • Ability to multitask between multiple projects
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and business management skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Detailedoriented and results driven
  • Must be initiativetaking with a desire to always improve both personally and professionally
  • Ability to work as part of team
Required

  • Must have valid G level drivers license
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Company provided vehicle and phone

Hourly Wage:
$32-$40/hour depending on experience
