We are looking for a law clerk with litigation experience to join our team. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits plan. This role requires in-person attendance at our office in downtown Toronto a minimum of four (4) days per week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assembling document briefs and preparing court documents
- Preparing bills of costs, affidavits of documents and undertakings and refusals charts
- Scheduling examinations, mediations and court dates
- Maintaining the firm tickler system/diarizing deadlines
- Maintaining uptodate records in LEAP
- Court filings and uploading documents to CaseLines
- Maintaining and organizing files and records
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a litigation legal assistant and/or law clerk
- Familiarity with Ontario court practices, including court forms, the _Rules of Civil Procedure_ and applicable practice directions
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to be proactive and resourceful
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and CaseLines
- Knowledge of LEAP legal software a plus
- Comfortable with technology and capable of assisting with electronic examinations and hearings
- Familiarity with ediscovery software is an asset, but not required
Salary:
$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
