OVERVIEW


The Registration Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient scheduling and registration of all patients in the hospital ADT and Scheduling System.


EDUCATION

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma, required.
  • Administrative or Secretarial diploma preferred.
  • Medical/Psychiatry terminology an asset.
  • Courses in Mental Health an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years recent relevant registration, admitting and appointment scheduling experience required.
  • Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge base of medical and psychiatric terminology.
  • Knowledge of patient scheduling systems preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and problemsolve.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately type a minimum of 3545 wpm.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Call-Centre or similar telephone customer service experience preferred.
  • Evidence of ongoing education such as postsecondary courses, seminars, workshops, etc.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability for attention to detail while providing high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations with empathy.
  • Must be prepared to work in all areas of Mental Health Services as needed.
  • Good work and attendance record required.
