The Lead, OHT Strategic Planning, will be responsible for leading the design and execution of evidence-based strategies and projects that build the maturity and performance of Ontario Health Teams (OHTs).

The Lead, OHT Strategic Planning, will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development of multi-year strategies to advance OHT provincial priorities in consultation with the Ministry of Health and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring Ontario Health's funding and accountability agreements with OHTs reflect provincial strategic priorities and Quintiple-AIM objectives.
  • Enabling OHT success through timely access to guidance materials produced in consultation with the Ministry of Health and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitating effective decision-making by providing strategic analysis, recommendations and briefings for Ontario Health's senior leadership team.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Lead the translation of Ministry of Health policy and Ontario Health Corporate strategy and Annual Business Plan priorities into evidence-based and integrated strategies and projects at the portfolio level.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of priority projects that advance OHT development and maturity.
  • Translate OHT policies and strategies into outcomes-based deliverables and key performance indicators that can be embedded into funding and accountability agreements.
  • Lead the engagement of internal Ontario Health program areas, the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health Teams, and other system partners in developing guidance to support provincial OHT priorities.
  • Develop proactive communications and key messaging relating to provincial OHT priorities to enable OHTs to plan and implement effectively.
  • Develop performance measures, evaluation and reporting mechanisms to support the assessment of outcomes aligned with Quintiple-AIM goals.
  • Identify key insights and trends from OHT reporting and consultations and translate them into concrete improvements that enable OHT maturity and performance.
  • Synthesize data and analysis from research, reporting and evaluation activities into meaningful dashboards, reports and presentations for executive level briefings for Ontario Health's divisions and regions, the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders.
  • Work across Ontario Health portfolios, the Ministry of Health, OHTs and other system partners in a collaborative and consultative manner to advance OHT development and integrated care.
  • Lead the development of proposals for new strategies, projects and funding that align with Ministry of Health policies and Ontario Health's corporate strategy.
  • Work with Ontario Health's Corporate Strategy and the Ministry of Health to support performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in research, consulting, health or public administration or a related field- An undergraduate degree in Public Policy, Business / Health Administration, or another relevant discipline is essential; a graduate degree (e.g. MBA, MA, MHSc, MHA, MPA) would be highly advantageous.


Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of health care systems and priorities, including Ontario Health Teams and/or integrated care systems- Demonstrated experience leading multi-year strategic planning processes, including problem definition, options analysis, benefits realization, key performance indicators and risk analysis Outstanding ability to form working relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders to advance common priorities.- Demonstrated ability to lead internal and external consultations to identify opportunities and challenges and build consensus relating to potential solutions.
