- Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of chemistry and chemical analysis 2+ years of experience in an Analytical Lab in Academia or IndustryStrong problem-solving and Analytical skills Experience with lab operations, QMS and Statistic toolsKnowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMAnalytical mindset, critical thinking, and problem solving abilityGood communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders This roles onboarding program includes 3-6 months training in Europe.

About Umicore Battery Materials in Canada
Umicore is preparing to build a battery materials production plant in Loyalist Township, Ontario - the first of its kind in North America. The cutting-edge facility will be a critical part of Canada's electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. What you will be doing
For this new site, we are looking for an Analytical Lab Specialist reporting to the Technical Analytical Lab Manager. In this role you will be responsible for reliability of analytical tests for related area. Due to the rapid growth of Umicore Battery Materials, with many new products being developed, the analytical lab faces major challenges. To maintain a high level of quality and reliability of analytical activities, the analytical laboratory specialists will secure the reliability of analysis by monitoring equipment reliability in the related area and be responsible for executing new methods and technologies in the lab.
