About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the IM/IT Program Manager - Project Services, the Project Manager oversees a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team responsible for the requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation of IM/IT projects throughout the province.

This supports the organization and its client's direction towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the One Person, One Record (OPOR) strategy
Demonstrating leadership behaviors and capabilities, consistent with LEADS in a Caring Environment framework, which include Leads Self, Engages Others, Develops Coalitions, Achieves Results and Transforms Systems, the position (as outlined in Section B, "Competencies") is accountable for the following:

Planning and Systems Performance:

  • Lead, implement and promote the provincial strategic direction under the guidance and direction of the IM/IT Project Services Program Manager.
  • Will ensure projects are transitioned to support services/operations in accordance with IM/IT support policy/practice.
  • Collaborates with NSHA, IWK, department of health, other NSHA IM/IT teams and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve and build sustainable system and service delivery.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships with clinical staff, physicians, clinical leaders and other business stakeholders to promote awareness of IM/IT systems and processes within Project Services
  • Lead and motivate a high performing, dynamic, multidisciplinary project teams promoting quality work, high levels of customer service in a cost effective manner
  • Responsible to provide coverage when other members of the Project Services team are on vacation.
  • Required to be on rotational call schedule to ensure 24/7 leadership support in cases of significant outages, downtimes or issues.

Quality Service Delivery:

  • Ensure a customer service focused approach throughout the portfolio by developing a stakeholder engagement strategy to planning and continuous quality improvement.
  • Required to understand, develop and support the NSHA project management services portfolio.
  • Responsible to support the provincial alignment of IT systems and processes within IM/IT Project Services with an emphasis on standardization and quality improvement.
  • Support policies, procedures and clinical guidelines that adhere with national best practices and support the mandate of the NSHA/IWK.
  • Responsible to build and maintain a collaborative relationship with the appropriate stakeholders from NSHA, IWK, department of health and NSDS technical team to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure appropriate performance metrics are developed, monitored, and reported with respect to current practices, documentation, and technology and training requirements to meet and support the client's needs and advances technology to support ongoing sustainability and improvement.

Visible Leadership, Partnerships and Relationships:

  • Support the Directors and Project Services Program Manager with respect to clinical technology projects and alignment with the strategic direction of IM/IT and its clients, formal project management practices and reporting, KPI development, financial planning, and performance measurement.
  • Support IM/IT managers and leads with education, training and development of their project management skills.

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years' leadership experience with IT/IM Services, project management, programs and services.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) required.
  • Undergraduate degree. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and work experience.
  • Master's degree an asset, particularly in health administration, leadership, masters of business administration.
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) and/or Certified Profes
