Your role at Clorox:


The Operations (Supply) Planner is responsible for planning the production and distribution of finished goods across the network while achieving desired service, inventory, capacity, and total delivered cost targets.


In this role, you will:

Master Data:

  • Primary Owner for all BPCS Master data as it relates to item setup, planning and Inventory control
  • Supports the transition of new and old SKUs by making linkages between products and between production and shipment locations.

Planning:

  • Lead and execute capacity and production planning process for business/selected brands across multiple work centers/plants and 12 supply chains providing clear direction to plants on Business needs
  • Lead the SAM meeting in step 3 of S&OP process (tiangle calls).
  • Entering of Supply Plan into APO.
  • Manages production site information flow & capabilities, eg. constraints, changeover strategies, lead times, etc
  • Participates on supply chain strategy teams
  • Recommends optimization within the supply chain, eg. service vs. premium freight vs. inventory vs. schedule changes
  • Basic understanding of how supply chain planning decisions can impact the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with US planning, plants, transportation, and customer service to ensure optimal customer service, inventory and costs
  • Solid understanding of the forecast management process with linkages to inventory planning and management
  • Implements discontinuation / runout plan with plants and distribution centers to liquidate/donate/dispose of obsolete and remnant raw and pack, WIP and finished goods
  • Understands warehouse space and transportation capacity constraints and their impact on planning
  • Actively used Inventory management tools to mange key performance metrics

Inventory Control:

  • Understands key drivers of FG inventory buckets and seeks ways to reduce FG inventory through effective inventory management
  • Manage inventory to DOS with an understanding of cost to serve and customer service as a part of daily business
  • Broad understanding of the deployment planning and execution process
  • Manages the use of safety stocks while translating into recommendations to optimize cost and customer service.
  • Manages inventory run out plans within the various process and services used to liquidate, destroy and donate obsolete and remnant materials
  • Manage various reports and system tools to keep inventory current and correct (error logs, hold reports, negative inventories, open purchase orders, etc )
  • Where applicable manage inventory of lot code or expiring products to ensure limited exposure to writeoffs

Business & Functional Team Support:

  • Accountable for customer service and inventory management tradeoff for business/selected brands
  • Lead the allocation process should service issues arise
  • Proficient at asking 5 Why's on service issues and drilling to root cause/action plans
  • Represents their brands during the S&OP process, including performance metric review, capacity status/issue, and other supply status areas.
  • Actively champion "one right way" concept standardized and best practices across the company
  • PSO lead on all new product launches by having all system setup work complete ontime, while managing launch metrics
  • Proactively provides resolution and change management within specified brands
  • Actively participate on process improvement teams and lead 12 improvements throughout the year
  • Support other Operation Planners and businesses as needs arise
