KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat resistant alloys and high nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology. As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual) GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing.

Summary:


Responsible for coordinating, expediting, and status tracking of the jobs throughout the inspection department to ensure deadlines are met for Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.


Major Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Assist the Quality Manager in order to develop, implement and maintain programs, methods and procedures to ensure that all materials, processes and products meet Company quality standards;
  • Audit production procedures, routings, tasks, procedures, BOM and equipment;
  • Facilitate training sessions on quality related standard operating procedures (SOP) and processes;
  • Review, identify and resolve all the nonconformances related to the processes and products;
  • Prepare and analyze the nonconformances statistical report;
  • Develop and implement the corrective actions related to nonconformances;
  • Record and analyze the customer's complaints;
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager to identify issues and make improvements;
  • Assist the Quality Assurance team leader in implementing engineering change requests;
  • Maintain the appropriate documentation to track all required equipment is calibrated as per the industry standard.
  • Serve on Quality Improvement teams and lead quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist in assessment and review of subcontractors/suppliers, including auditing at outside site, as required
  • Participate in elements of customer complaint investigations, including attending at customer's location
  • Directly supports the QA and QC areas
  • Compile and issue technical reports and graphs
  • Create regular reports on program issues/activities
  • Other related duties, as required

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Technical training from an accredited college or university (Mechanical or Metallurgical)
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous training in Lean 6 Sigma techniques an asset
  • Proven fundamental understanding of ISO 900
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials
  • Mathematical aptitude for calculating tube lengths
  • Familiarity with ERP and SAP systems an asset
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication, analytical and data presentation skills
