Detailed Overview:

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

This role manages research projects including assisting the Principal Investigators (PIs) in the conceptualization and development of research proposals and collaborating with PIs in the development of strategic work plans and setting of priorities and goals.

Provides leadership in all aspects of research project coordination such as developing research procedures, monitoring workflow and data collection and coordinating projects through to completion.

Working collaboratively with research team, conducts all aspects of research project activities with ethical integrity; manages ethical approval process; recruits, trains and supervises other research staff in accuracy and timeliness of data collection, data management and data analysis.

Prepares reports, scientific publications, grants and dissemination activities pertaining to research findings. Manages research budgets and resources.


Responsibilities:


  • Provides leadership in managing all aspects of research program including the development and coordination of research plans, and establishing priorities and timelines for funded research projects.
  • Develops procedures to support research protocols and data collection; monitors workflow and data collection to ensure high data quality.
  • Responsible for data management associated with the research program. Develops, maintains and operates computer databases; utilizes and modifies existing packaged software programs as required. Ensures completeness, accuracy and integrity of data in accordance with predesigned procedures and protocols.
  • Evaluates, analyzes and interprets data including the preparation of graphs, charts, and interpretive reports. In collaboration and consultation with colleagues and research team members, develops evidencebased recommendations based on research findings which may impact service programs, delivery or resources.
  • Provides necessary training to research staff for qualitative and quantitative data collection (e.g. focus groups and questionnaires), data management/coding, and complex data analysis (descriptive, multivariate and factor analysis) using a variety of methods.
  • Develops analytic strategies and assists the research team in managing, coding and analyzing data.
  • Meets with stakeholder groups and service agencies to facilitate participant recruitment and study completion; works collaboratively to facilitate the implementation of project; facilitates alliances and linkages between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and develops knowledge translation activities including the preparation of manuscripts and comprehensive reports, briefing notes, profiling documents/communication and conference materials.
  • Manages projects by monitoring research budgets, ordering supplies, determining staffing requirements and performance evaluations, setting up and maintaining project files, and managing research staff as designated including the supervision of day to day operational work.

Qualifications
:
Education and Experience

Master's degree in a health science related field such as geriatric medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, population health, health service research.

Five (5) years of related experience including research project management working with multi-disciplinary teams in quantitative research methods and statistics, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
