Purpose of Position
Develop and deliver technical training with respect to aircraft systems, run up and taxi, troubleshooting, inspection techniques, refueling, etc. and company policy and procedures to all Jazz M&E employees, external customers and AOG Contractors as required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate as necessary, whether the students have achieved the desired level of knowledge as stated in the course objectives/lesson plans.
  • Ensure standards for student safety are followed during any training including practical drills or work.
  • Delivery of other training programs when required
  • Develop Jazz ATO aircraft type courses (ATA Spec 104 Level 3) to meet Transport Canada and Jazz approval requirements.
  • Develop aircraft type familiarization courses (ATA Spec 104, Level I).
  • Develop aircraft tow training, aircraft ground runs & taxi training, avionics systems training, diagnostics training and specialized tooling training such as borescope inspection
  • Develop new courses as directed by the Maintenance Training Manager
  • MCM/MPM Standards and Update courses.
  • AOG contractor training (Jazz policy & procedures)
  • Respond to and report back on daily operational issues.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of coworkers and customers.

Other duties may include:


  • Coordinate with Maintenance Training Coordinator for class lists and hotel bookings.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Training Manager or various Maintenance Managers as required for scheduling training activities.
  • Ensure training location and equipment are arranged for the training and any equipment issues are reported back through the Maintenance Training Manager or 3rd party person responsible.
  • Administration of any required course examinations including completing forms and reports.
  • Ensure course attendance records are completed and forwarded to the Maintenance Training Coordinator when required. Provide support, coaching and training material to line trainers as required.

Qualification:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the maintenance of aircraft
  • Diploma in Adult Education will be considered an asset.
  • Aviation maintenance training by recognized institution
  • Licensing or Certification for Aircraft Maintenance engineer
  • Training on Instructional Techniques is mandatory for this position (this training can be provided by Jazz).
