In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement this position has an approximate appointment of _12 Months _and offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and annual salary range of $75,010 - $103,162.

This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

Position Summary
The Research Network Project Manager reports to the SIC Network Lead.

The Special Immunization Clinic (SIC) Network was established to improve immunization practices for patients who experienced adverse events following immunization and those who have medical conditions that may affect their response to immunizations.

SIC physicians conduct standard patient assessments, and evaluate vaccine safety and immune responses.

The Research Network Project Manager provides administrative and management support for the entire portfolio of SIC Network studies, including several multi-site clinical studies, both national and international, as well as related studies led by the SIC Network Lead.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the organization and management of research studies and supporting the Principal Investigator to ensure milestones and targets are met effectively.


Duties

  • Provide overall coordination of assigned studies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or sponsor or regulatory guidelines under the guidance of the Principal Investigator/Network Lead
  • Act as lead to a national network of site research coordinators and various team members for each aspect of various projects
  • Develop, review, and approve Statements of Work, contracts, and budgets
  • Manage multiple project budgets including developing, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to the PI and advising on risk mitigation strategies to achieve sound financial management
  • Work with the Laboratory and Data Management teams on all aspects of project logistics
  • Review and assist with the development of protocols, Case Report Forms, consent forms, and other study documents
  • Opportunities to assist with the writing and review of academic publications, including presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts
  • Work collaboratively with research groups within Canada and internationally to coordinate research projects across multiple sites

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in epidemiology, health research or public health required OR Bachelors degree or equivalent in science or healthrelated field, formal certification in project management and >5 years experience in health research
  • 5+ years of relevant experience within a university research setting, hospital, or comparable environment
  • Experience writing, editing, and reviewing protocols and other study related documents
  • Understanding of research ethics, in concept and practice
  • Experience coordinating multiple clinical trials and/or research projects concurrently
  • Extensive project management experience in a clinical or research setting, including complex budget management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal professional development in administration and/or project management
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory environment
  • Experience with immunization and knowledge of adverse events following immunization
  • Comfortable dealing with patients, participants, and members of the public
  • Demonstrably high level of time management and decisionmaking skills in managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Highly organized and able to multitask when needed and strong attention to detail
