    ACADEMIC PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR (BAND LEVEL 6)

    Student Wellness and Counselling Centre

    (Permanent Position)

    DUTIES

    The successful candidate will exercise judgement, independence, and creative problem solving to provide complex secretarial and administrative support services to the Student Wellness and Counselling Centre. The position reports directly to the Director, Student Wellness and Counselling Centre, and provides support to the Training Director of the Psychology Residency program. Duties include coordinating and maintaining written and/or electronic calendar or schedule; utilizing advanced functions to provide word processing or typing services to facilitate the production of complex documents or materials; developing, organizing, and maintaining electronic and paper information filing or retrieval methods, systems, or formats; screening, distributing, and answering incoming mail of confidential nature; preparing and maintaining documents such as annual reports and databases; performing tasks related to faculty management including recruitment and appointment processes, preparing and managing assessment files for promotion and tenure consideration, and maintaining confidential faculty files; advising committees involved in the recruitment, tenure, and promotion processes in keeping with relevant collective agreements; assisting with payroll submissions through institutionally-administered systems; coordinating, organizing, or planning meetings and/or events; carrying out assigned cross-functional responsibilities; and performing other related duties as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience (5-8 years) providing administrative support, preferably at an executive level; completion of a recognized medical office or business administration program at the diploma level; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Previous on-the job computer or word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software experience in a Microsoft Office environment (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required. Experience with Adobe Pro is an asset. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills; good verbal and written communication skills; the ability to multitask effectively, work independently and as a team player are required.

    There is a requirement to provide a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local Police and a Vulnerable Sector Check, educational documents, and registration/licensure if applicable.

    SALARY $56,212 - $65,938 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
