What are we looking for
We are currently seeking a hardworking and experienced
Junior Estimator to join our team.

Working under the general direction of the Senior Estimator, the Junior Estimator will be responsible for assisting with preparing, submitting and tracking estimates and proposals, analyzing drawings and specifications, and draft project budgets and estimates.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

• Read and interpret engineered drawings and prepare material take offs
• Obtain scope of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to prepare bid estimates
• Calculate equipment and labour requirements
• Document and organize complex streams of information, entering and tracking estimates and actuals
• Procuring and building relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers etc)
• Review historical data to create initial estimates
• Experience in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and familiarity with steel and piping estimating
• Reading and understanding the interpretation of drawings and specifications, and contractual terms and conditions
• Demonstrated ability to document and organize complex streams of information and paperwork efficiently and accurately
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Gmail) and knowledge of Acorn and/or autoCAD
• Graduate from recognized engineering or construction management program would be an asset
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and equally motivated working independently
• Valid driver's license
