The Canadian Health Practice of HDR is in search of a
Health Principal Strategic Pursuits, Canada to join our growing practice and continue the legacy of providing our clients and communities with creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those they serve.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and monitor targeted health marketing strategies, goals, and actions in cooperation with local, regional and sector health marketing leaders. Assist and collaborate in the development of annual strategic market sector planning for all of Canada.
  • Work with the Canadian and firmwide sector leadership to implement key initiatives, investments and strategies for growth and practice development, obtain new project work, generate thought leadership, and contribute towards overall profitability.
  • Working alongside other practice leaders, grow a wellbalanced, multidisciplinary health team in Canada; assess capabilities of staffing resources; grow, develop, recruit, and maintain expertise, balance all aspects of an expertise and designdriven top tier health practice.
  • Take responsibility to execute the necessary premarketing and positioning strategies necessary for success.
  • Lead strategic project pursuit teams, manage pursuit processes, and follow quality procedures for document production.
  • Develop strong client relationships and serve as a key client relationship manager on projects.
  • Organize and support efforts of sector, regional and local leaders to ensure effective organization of pursuits.
  • Lead project pursuits, including planning and facilitating pursuit team creation, scheduling, pursuit meetings, budgeting, actions, designs, planning, submittals, presentations, etc.
  • Participate in mentoring and training health staff in pursuit strategies for alternative delivery health projects.
  • Monitor marketing progress, performance indicators, marketing report accuracy, budgets and costs, risk management and manage progress within assigned marketing resource allocations.
  • Participate as a health thought leader in professional organizations, activities, and services throughout Canada that further the firm's brand, vision, and relationships.
  • This role requires extensive travel.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • 15 years related experience.
  • A minimum 7 years project management experience.
  • Applicable provincial registration.
  • Must have experience on largescale healthcare projects.
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects and make client presentations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the national health market.
  • Proven business development experience in health design industry.
  • Strong team leadership, project management, mentoring, motivational/organizational and people skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Able to collaborate and integrate with complex teams.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employeeowned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced credentialing desired (e.g. LEED, EDAC, etc.)
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
  • PMP certification.
