Join KPMG's dynamic Accounting Advisory Services team in Toronto, where you'll use your technical accounting and financial reporting expertise to help clients navigate complex, evolving business challenges. You'll work with both private and public companies across industries, supporting them through significant transactions, regulatory changes, and operational transformations.

What you will do

• Lead and deliver advisory engagements under IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE.
• Support clients through acquisitions, divestitures, capital raises, reorganizations, and IPO readiness.
• Prepare and review financial statements, working papers, and technical accounting analyses.
• Evaluate and interpret accounting and disclosure requirements, draft supporting analyses and presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional KPMG teams on process redesign, controls, and transaction-related challenges.
• Leverage technology tools and expert-level Excel skills to support financial reporting and data modelling.
• Stay current with evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

What you bring to the role

• Post-secondary degree required
• Hold a Canadian CPA designation, or hold an internationally recognized equivalent accounting designation per CPA Canada guidelines
• 5+ years' professional experience, preferably in a consulting environment
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to research, interpret, and apply complex accounting standards and distill principles from intricate guidance to address sophisticated fact patterns.
• Deep technical knowledge across key accounting areas, including financial instruments, consolidations, and securitization, with relevant experience in financial services environments (banking, insurance, credit unions, broker‑dealers).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear, persuasive technical memos and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and project management capabilities, including leading engagement teams, coaching junior professionals, and managing multiple priorities while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
• High adaptability and resilience in a fast‑paced, evolving advisory environment.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex functions and macros, and experience supporting tactical or strategic system implementations (data discovery, configuration, and testing).
• Willingness to travel as required within Canada, the U.S., and internationally, where permissible.

KPMG Ontario Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $91,000 to $136,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
