Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact


The Privacy Analyst conducts Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA's), delivers privacy training, responds to privacy inquiries, processes information access requests, and investigates privacy breached and/or incidents.

You would also conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments of technologically complex internal and external systems, programs and initiatives.


In this role you conduct research and analysis related to privacy compliance in order to provide advice and recommendations for developing policy and to support initiatives.

This role will support the preparation of reports for stakeholders.

This role assists in revising, updating, and maintaining privacy training materials; delivers education and training on privacy issues.

You would assist in the investigation and managing of privacy incidents with the Director.

In this role, you would support the preparation of records and response letters for information requests.


Key Experiences You Bring To This Role

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a privacy analyst interpreting BC PIPA and FIPPA, or interpreting the equivalent privacy legislation in other jurisdictions
  • Minimum 3 years' experience drafting Privacy Impact Assessments of complex technological systems that adhere to guidelines for private sector entities under PIPA and FIPPA
  • Demonstrated experience preparing reports to support policy analysis and decisionmaking for privacy
  • Demonstrated experience responding to and investigating privacy incidents and breach responses
  • Postsecondary degree in Library Science, Information Management, Business, or related discipline
  • CIPP/C certification or equivalent
