Responsibilities

  • Develop policies and procedures for compliance management activities and programs for our institutions.
  • Implement compliance procedures within the colleges to ensure all departments and programs are operating in full compliance with government regulations and external accrediting bodies.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop action plans for the mitigation of those risks and provide guidance on how to avoid instances of noncompliance.
  • Identify and report noncompliance instances to management and work with staff to correct the issue.
  • Coordinate, arrange and supervise internal audit processes to ensure our institutions and their programs comply with internal and external regulations and prepare for ministry audits.
  • Interpret, monitor and implement quality assurance standards and procedures and evaluate their adequacy.
  • Generating reports and completing renewals as required, providing statistical data for use in decision making.
  • Providing regular compliance reports to the governing body and senior management
  • Develop and implement all shortterm and longterm strategies and ensure consistency.
  • Keep uptodate on recent trends and knowledge of various provincial laws and regulations, including the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU), Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB), and IRCC.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a compliance role, with knowledge of regulatory and legislative policy and procedures.
  • Highly ethical nature

  • A flexible approach to working and the ability to cope with frequently changing environments.
  • The ability to work independently but also as part of a wider management team
