Permanent part-time Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) opportunity available now at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH). Days of work are rotating and shift times may be day, evening and night shifts. This rotation is predominantly evening and night shifts.About us:

What will you work on:
MLAs perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

About this location:
VJH is in the Okanagan health service area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to patients throughout its service area.
Located in Vernon, between Kelowna and Kamloops, VJH offers services including core physician specialties, Laboratory, 24 hour emergency and trauma services, acute and obstetrical care.
The thriving city of Vernon is home to approx.40,000 residents, situated at the northern end of the sunny Okanagan Valley within a short drive to Kelowna International Airport and UBC Okanagan.
The city is home to a diverse arts community and boasts major amenities within close proximity to three stunning lakes and Silver Star Mountain Resort.
- Grade 1
- Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
- One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Valid BC Driver's License
