    Description
    Role: Licensed Summer Club Programmer

    Wage: $ $22.14 per hour

    Hours: Temporary Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

    Term: June 24, 2024 (or sooner) - August 30, 2024

    Location: YMCA Chetwynd

    The YMCA BC is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and the YMCA BC - Northern Region is the largest provider in the north, serving: Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Hudson's Hope, Prince George, Pouce Coupe, Tumbler Ridge and Vanderhoof. YMCA Child Care is a home away from home.

    Responsibilities of this role:

  • Interact directly with the children, providing quality care and creative programming
  • Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families, providing excellent service and building meaningful relationships
  • Implement YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum with the support of your leader
  • Plan and implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate program of activities
  • Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and YMCA requirements
  • Qualifications:

  • Must be 19 years of age & can provide three professional references
  • Responsible Adult certification, equivalent child related training or a willingness to obtain training & Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Current Child Care First Aid, CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain
  • Reliable transportation required
  • As this role is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, preference will be given to applicants who meet the Canadian Summer Jobs Grant Criteria
  • Canada Summer Jobs Grant Criteria:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
  • Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident,
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number
  • and must be willing and able to work:

  • Job duration: Must be between 6 and 16 consecutive weeks.
  • Job hours: Must be full-time (35 to 40 hours per week).
