Key Responsibilities:

Use Newstar to generate purchase orders: base and options/upgrades, create change orders and variance POs. Monitor schedule to ensure POs are created at appropriate time and deadlines are met.


Receive pricing requests from Sales and Design for custom products and changes - verify request is feasible, create take-offs when required, accurately calculate costs and retail prices based on quotes from sub-trades, and respond with all required information, specifications and sketches in a timely manner.


Assist in product library management within Newstar and SalesXpress, creating, maintaining and verifying product information: descriptions and details, images, discontinued products.

Review Sales and Design Addendums for accuracy prior to sign off by purchasers.


Assist in creation and maintenance of accurate take offs for base house for all product lines: lumber, flooring, countertops, masonry, sod, etc.

Data entry and verification of own and other's data utilizing Newstar and Excel.


Create and analyze various reports on options and variance costs to verify for accuracy and completeness, troubleshoot and make recommendations.

Other related tasks as required and as role evolves.


Qualifications and Abilities:

Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating within residential home building industry. Sound knowledge and experience with estimating as it relates to single family and multi-unit homes.

Post-secondary education in Construction Estimating or related discipline is required.

AutoCAD will be considered an asset.

Experience with Newstar, JDE or similar database.

Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 with strong focus in Excel.

Thorough understanding of home construction, OBC, contracts and terminology.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills with an eye for detail.

Able to effectively manage time and priorities, implement and provide feedback on processes, procedures and workflows.
