Nexxgen Environmental is an environmental soil/ water remediation company based out of Ajax Ontario. We specialize in earthworks, groundwater treatment and remedial in situ system installations. Our earthworks division conducts large and small scale excavations/ trenches in open and limited space environments. Excavations/ trenches can vary from standard basic operations to technical shoring operations depending on site conditions. Our work is primarily in the GTA and surrounding areas, although we do work all over Ontario.


Minimum 6 Years Experience Required
**1. Operating excavator 3.5ton

• 50ton**: Min. 4 years experience
• Proper stock piling procedures_
• Ability to properly slope, bench or install shoring_
• Confidently load dump trucks, rock trucks and trailers_
• Operate safely around workers and consultants_
• Load/ run screening plant_
• Confidently operate in tight spaces_
• Confidently dig inside shoring boxes_
• Confidently dig around utilities & structures_

Operating Dozers:
Min. 4 year experience

• Backfilling_
• Stripping material/ bulking_
• Slot dozing_
• Grading (With GPS and Without GPS)_
• Stock piling_
• Operating in close proximity of other equipment_

Use of shoring systems:
Min 2 years experience

• Trench boxes (aluminum/ steel)_
• Slide Rail_
• Confidently hoist equipment with precision_
• Identifying correct/ incorrect rigging before hoisting_

4.


Deep excavation:
Min 2 years experience

• Ability to monitor ground conditions_
• 5M+ (16.5ft+)_
• Limited view_
• Extensive shoring_

Duties for a Heavy Equipment Operator:

• Pre-trip inspections to be filled out before running Heavy Equipment
• Operate equipment in a safe and productive manner
• Excavation of contaminated soils (fuels, solvents, etc)
• Installing shoring equipment
• Stock piling as per ministry guidelines
• Contain stock piles while waiting for analytical
• Load/ship contaminated soil in a clean and safe manner
• Excavations/ trenches along property lines or structures
• Loading screening plants to sort materials
• Backfilling excavations/ trenches
• Running skid steers and compaction equipment to hep out (primarily labour position)
• Pushing material to excavators
• Stripping topsoil
• Building access roads
• Grading (cut & fill sites)

Job Overview:

As a heavy equipment operator with Nexxgen, you will be responsible to execute tasks such as are listed above, given to you by your supervisor throughout the day, in a safe and practical manner.

Given the nature of environmental work, we always work with a consultant company brought onto the project by the property owners to handle the soil/ water sampling.

As a heavy equipment operator we expect you conduct yourself in a professional and polite manner and direct any issues of concerns to your appointed supervisor.

Hourly rate will be based on experience

Qualified applicants will be required to complete an "in cab" interview on site
