What can I expect to do in this role?: In this position, you will provide traffic engineering analysis support by:
- reviewing and providing recommendations for specific projects in areas such as pre-contract engineering/construction, traffic operations/analysis, traffic signals, planning and data collection/management
- providing technical input to resolve safety and operational issues on the highway/road networks
- provide technical expertise in several areas including capacity analysis, collision analysis, roadside hazards, traffic control signals and intersection operations
How do I qualify?:
Mandatory:
- must possess a valid Ontario class G Driver's License to travel independently to areas not served by public
transportation.
Traffic Engineering Knowledge:
- You have knowledge of transportation planning, and technology to conduct reviews, investigations, related to traffic operational issues.
- You have knowledge of traffic data collection, processing and projection techniques.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- You have excellent problemsolving and analytical skills to collect and analyse data and good judgment when assessing alternatives and developing solutions
Communication, Interpersonal and Organizational Skills:
- You have well developed communication, interpersonal and judgment skills to work tactfully with clients
- You can work in a team environment to establish and maintain good working relationships
- You are able to organize, prioritize and manage diverse projects and assignments under stressful and/or controversial situations and tight time constraints
