    The Opportunity

    NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the term position of Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead development of content/resources for our new Sustainable Agriculture Technology program. Our College is committed to transforming lives and communities and is working in partnership with the agricultural sector on the creation of training that is relevant to developing skills for the next generation.

    What you'll do

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Dean of Professional & Part-time Learning and Natural Resources, the Subject Matter Expert is responsible to:

  • Collaborate with industry partners to gather intel for the specific competencies required for each course in the program.
  • Work closely with an NBCC Learning Design Consultant who will prepare the curriculum.
  • Identify resources and ensure strong connections with industry and post secondary educational institutions during the development phase of this initiative.

  • Required qualifications include experience and knowledge relevant to the agricultural sector. The successful candidate will be a team-player, accountable, and committed to collaboration with others.
  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • Working Knowledge/High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License as travel will be required.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.
  • Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

    Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
