FACILITY ASSISTANT
We are seeking a self-motivated, confident, compassionate and upbeat Facility Assistant to join our dynamic team Reporting to the Director - HR/Health and Safety, your work will include, but not be limited to, the following
administrative and security-related tasks and responsibilities:

  • Acting as the "go to person" to support and assist employees with any questions, needs and concerns as applicable, and directing them accordingly to the Manager/Supervisor, medical care, or other party as deemed appropriate under the circumstances;
  • Providing general administrative and office assistance on an asneeded basis;
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory of office supplies, preparing and submitting Purchase Requests as required;
  • Accurately maintaining petty cash float, reconciling and submitting monthly reports to Accounting;
  • Visitor Reception and Sign-In:
- answering and redirecting phone calls in a professional manner
- receiving visitors, and following and maintaining Visitor Protocol as required for staff, guest, vendor, and contractor arrival and entry to the facility

  • Overseeing proper access control and intrusion detection protocols for staff, guest, vendor, and contractors to areas where cannabis is present, including vault/storage areas and deliveries/pickup;
  • Maintaining accurate records of entry and exit to restricted and storage areas;
  • Monitoring all video surveillance systems, as well as all access control and intrusion detection systems, and monitoring and reporting violations of overall safety and security procedures throughout the facility;
  • Reporting and responding to security concerns, incidents or breaches any and all scenarios that could compromise an employee's security clearance or the organization's security;
  • Overseeing and maintaining physical security through the monitoring, storage and retrieval of videomonitoring footage;
  • Adhering to procedures for the protection of client information;
  • Executing contingency plans for recordkeeping system failures;
  • Overseeing security measures to ensure the safekeeping of cannabis when being shipped, received and/or transported;
  • Following proper procedures and protocols for validating that cannabis entering the facility is from a legal source;
  • Adhering to proper response procedures and protocols should cannabis be found to enter or leave the facility in an unauthorized manner;
  • Adhering to all Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and in compliance with Health Canada's _Cannabis Act_ and _Regulations_.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:


  • All administrative and securityrelated education and experience will all be considered
  • Current Security Clearance status granted by Health Canada under the _Cannabis Act, _or ability to obtain once hired
  • Knowledge of the _Cannabis Act_ and _Regulations_ is an asset
  • First Aid/CPR certified

Skill Requirements:


  • Proficient in computer and software systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Flexibility to take on new and added responsibilities per the business' growth needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently as required
  • Ability to remain calm, think clearly and proactively, and analyze situations objectively at all times
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, monitoring and documentation capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize activities and adjust priorities on short notice
  • Physical aptitude and health necessary to lift, bend, stand, sit, walk, ascend/descend stairs
  • Exceptional written and verbal comprehension, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of GMP and GPP is an asset
  • Knowledge of related municipal, provincial and federal law is an asset

Other Details:


Location:
Brooklyn, Queens Co, NS (required)

Compensation:
$18/hr, or as determined based on skills and experience

Status and Hours:
Permanent, 40 hours per week (M-F 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
