Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead positive change effort to improve performance by motivating, recognizing, and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in activities.
  • Maintain high level of awareness on safety, environmental and process compliance.
  • Champion hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behaviorbased safety and risk assessment programs.
  • Lead and direct all production operations for the duration of the shift.
  • Increase employee engagement and improve labour relations through participation in continuous improvement.
  • Resolve conflict situations immediately.
  • Increase operator involvement in daytoday goals and objectives.
  • Drive accountability for both results and actions of direct reports through education, motivation, documentation and behaviourbased coaching.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (5 Why) with team members, leadership, and engineering.
- work with and support other department goals.

  • Improve housekeeping and champion 5S.
  • Ensure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
  • Facilitate effective meetings and team discussions.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels both internal and external to the organization.
  • Participate in and resolve labour relations concerns.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Post secondary degree/diploma in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years industrial leadership experience in a supervisory role.
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read ad understand blueprints or engineered drawings an asset.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Strong troubleshooting and handson problemsolving skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, leadership, coaching, mentoring, delegation, and management skills.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of UKG or similar time and attendance system is an asset.
