Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Medical Device Reprocessing Management Team, the Working Leader/Educator is responsible for providing orientation to all new employees at the UAH Medical Device Reprocessing Department.


In addition, the incumbent will provide:
coaching and mentoring, teaching and leadership to all existing staff focusing on creating a team orientated environment. The incumbent works with management to enhance daily operations through effective assignment, orientation, and teaching.

The incumbent assists in improving the overall education and educational materials used within the various departments, also assists in the creation and update of departmental Standard Operating Procedures for all areas of responsibility.

The incumbent will also be responsible for making sure that yearly Competency assessments are given to all employees and identifying during that time any educational opportunities.

The successful applicant assists the Management team by providing input for yearly Performance Evaluations.

The incumbent will be required to work closely with the existing Team and in particularly with the Working Leaders and Clinical Assistants providing education for their portfolios.


Description:
As a Working Leader, you will orientate, support, and continuously coach Surgical Processors.

This may include setting priorities according to shift and daily requirements within the department while ensuring policies/procedures and standards are adhered to.

You will act as a formal resource to department staff and may act as a delegate for management on operational issues.

As a Working Leader, you may assist the management team by providing input for yearly performance evaluations of surgical processing staff.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
