Vice President, Information Technology to join our Information Technology team. This position is permanent and will be based in our Saskatoon office.

The opportunity

  • Provide strategic direction and daily management of all operational activities of the IT department as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance missioncritical business operations.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support costeffective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
  • Provide senior leadership and guidance to members of the department, setting departmental and individual performance expectations and providing constructive, regular, and relevant feedback on results.
  • Work closely with cyber security manager to stay on top of information security intelligence and adjust cyber program to counter new threats. The cyber aspect of this role is inclusive across the entire technology stack, including data centers, branch offices, cloud, networks, edge devices, desktops, and user awareness training.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational governance processes of the business organization as an Executive Leadership Team member.
  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
  • Ensure IT adheres to applicable laws and regulatory frameworks (SOX, PCI).
  • Manage hardware life cycles and modernize legacy systems.
  • Develop, track, and control the IT annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Review hardware and software procurement, maintenance contracts, and license renewals. Pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
  • Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or reengineering of the IT organization.
  • Remain current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or fiscal impact.
  • Promote and oversee the strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including government, vendors, and partner organizations.
  • Develop strategic collaborations with thirdparty partners, fostering genuine partnership with specialized categorical outsourcing capabilities.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for modern technology implementations.

You have

  • A university degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration. A Master's degree in either of these fields with technology as a core component is preferred.
  • 5+ years managing and/or directing an IT operation.
  • Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development.
  • Proven ability to present ideas in businessfriendly and userfriendly language.
  • Proven ability to motivate in a teamoriented, collaborative environment.

  • Excellent commercial relationship building skills and negotiating skills.
