Purpose
Working with key internal stakeholders, the Compliance manager is responsible for ensuring that compliance obligations are implemented and embedded within policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
The Compliance manager encourages the continual development of a culture of Compliance with industry standards and key internal policies.
The incumbent will provide leadership, guidance, documentation, and advice to staff on compliance requirements, and assists staff to achieve compliance requirements through education, training, and general business engagement.
The position responsibilities includes:
- Oversee compliance for the several operations
- Regulatory compliance of MOT, MOL, TDG, and MOE
- Developing, reviewing, or modifying compliance policies or operating guidelines to comply with changes to new laws and regulations.
- Designing and coordinating the preparation and ongoing review of policies, procedures, training materials, and other communication tools to ensure departments meet compliance requirements.
- File appropriate compliance reports and notifications with regulatory agencies
- Advise management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs.
- Monitor the regulatory landscape and help the organization understand and interpret the impact of new regulations both operationally and commercially.
- Help with new site openings by ensuring that they are operating as per regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that the compliance team establish and maintain required licenses, permits, and registrations as per the provinces
- Establishing highlevel selfaudit and compliance monitoring programs
- Oversee documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
- Experience with warehouse or distribution center services
- Analytical experience in performance based, action and results oriented setting
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced and multi
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly audits
- Edit and create Standard Operating Procedures & Emergency Response Programs on an ongoing basis
- Lead on investigations of internal and external theft and fraud and conduct interviews where appropriate
- Identify, promote and implement security best practices
- Partner with internal customers in evaluating current and future security services, processes and initiatives
- Awareness and implementation of best practices related to the utilization of physical security systems, investigation techniques, effective oversight of contract security officers, and distribution center loss mitigation techniques
Required Experience & Skills
- 810 years proven experience within the transportation Industry
- Previous experience with regulators and consumer organizations and relevant bodies
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret audit
- Ability to work in a high growth, fast paced environment
- Extensive knowledge of security technology & infrastructure (CCTV systems, building alarm systems etc.)
- Knowledge/Member of Transport Asset Protection Association (TAPA) is an asset
- Interviewing and Interrogation experience tasking environment
Core Competencies:
- Deep knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, expectations, and business strategy
- Capable of leading and developing the Compliance team
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint document sharing
- Highly organized, methodical and shows strong attention to detail
- Problem solving skills with the ability to seek alternative solutions
Education
- A Bachelor's Degree in business management with a focus on transportation is preferred but not mandatory
Salary:
$85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
