Summer Human Resources Assistant:

Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Human Resources, the incumbent will provide support for the development, implementation, and administration of the agency's human resources

Responsibilities will include:
health and safety, recruitment and selection, agency training and administration support.

We are seeking one summer employee to work June - August, conditional on funding through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

Responsibilities:

Assist with administrative duties including preparing documents and phone calls, filing and data entry.
Updating and filing of HR records
Assist in various Health & Safety projects
Develop and update orientation and training content as needed
Assist with recruitment including prescreening, interviewing, completing reference checks, etc.
Develop and/or update HR spreadsheets
Research, recommend and assist in revision of policy development
Complete general HR duties in the HR department as needed
Maintain a safe healthy working environment

Qualifications:

Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Legally entitled to work according to provincial legislation and regulations
Interest in supporting adults who have intellectual disabilities
Interest in Human Resources Management in a not for profit setting

Other Requirements:

Satisfactory Police Clearance (18 years and older)
Completed or currently enrolled in one of the following postsecondary programs: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Health and Safety is an asset

Salary:
$17.55 per hour, 35 hours per week, 12 weeks total
