Loader Operator -Traffic Spotter
- Compactor Operator
Location:
YRWMC Transfer Station
Shift:
Monday to Friday 6:30am
- 4:00pm
Responsibilities:
In the position of Traffic Spotter
- Compactor Operator
- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Complete understanding of the required Hand Signals for spotting vehicles;
- Hook up trailers to the Compactors
- Operate Front End Loader
- Operate compactor
- Operate Skid Steer
- Housekeeping of compactor room
- Ensure that the entire outside grounds and the facility
- Inspect and remove obvious contamination from loads;
- Punctual with good attendance
- Ensure you aware of and always work within MWS's safety guidelines
- Seasonal property maintenance (i.e. snow shovelling, sweeping, litter cleanup)
- Perform and conduct daily preoperational checks on equipment/machinery
- Comply with ISO procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and all Health and Safety
the workplace for hazardous and/or potentially hazardous conditions
- Liaise with supervisors, drivers, haulers, contractors and Regional staff in a professional and teamoriented manner
- You will be required to fill in and/or assist other positions as required for any vacations
- Highly developed organizational and team building skills
- Ensure that all work is performed safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is worn
- Providing exceptional customer service
Requirements:
Previous experience operating a Front End Loader, Compactor, Skid Steer will be preferential
you will be required to stand for long periods of time and be exposed to the
different weather elements. You must be a team player and function safely around
heavy equipment. General safe working habits are a must. Heavy lifting is required.
You may be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays so your own transportation is an asset.
