Business Development Specialist to help bring innovative technologies to the market.
The Position
The
Business Development Specialist will drive the business expansion of IJS into new sales territories and provide technical, educational, and sales support that enables all Regions to meet sales objectives.
This position is an opportunity to work with a disruptive technology that can improve surgical outcomes and restore a patient's quality of life.
It requires a self-starter who can quickly identify and establish relationships with surgeons and hospital administrative personnel and who can thrive in a dynamic environment with an unpredictable & flexible schedule.

Main Duties:
- Research, identify and pursue opportunities for IJS expansion into new territories, managing complex selling activities involving multiple decision makers and teams of buyers; this includes activities such as generating leads, making sales calls, identifying decision makers, influencing change in customers, gaining/renewing hospital contract approvals
- Become technically proficient to provide demos, product deployment and surgical case coverage ensuring the safe and effective use of Intellijoint Surgical's technology; this includes providing training to hospital staff and physicians, as well as, delivery/setup of instruments and systems
- In collaboration with the IJS Medical Education team, build training programs and reference materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Deliver 1:1 training sessions, inservice education programs, seminars and/or outside symposiums; assist with regional events and coordinate labs when required
- Provide initial, and ongoing, field education on new products and product updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for tracking and managing field inventory and sales samples
- Once a new territory is established, participate in the transition from Business Development to the Sales Team and provide training, onboarding and support to new team members in the territory
- Establish and maintain communication with peers and sales management through Intellijoint's CRM tool (Salesforce)
- Achieve and exceed national and regional sales objectives, while working in partnership with the US Director of Sales
- Support inside sales initiatives, such as contacting new prospects, to drive the adoption of Intellijoint Surgical projects
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Customer Success, and Research & Development to convey customer feedback and provide insights into new opportunities and/or programs for growth
- All aforementioned duties may be preformed in various countries around the world including, but not limited to: the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Skills and Experience to Enable Success:
- University degree or equivalent in education and work experience; Degree in engineering, nursing, biology, chemistry, or exercise physiology is an asset
- 13 years of sales experience, with a focus on business development, with a track record of exceeding targets working in the B2B, pharmaceutical, medical device or medical technology industry
- Experience being present in an Operating Room or cadaver environment is an asset
