Maclab Properties Group is looking for a creative and energetic Accounts Payable Clerk
This is work of an accounting and clerical nature.

An incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for accounts payable functions, the reconciliation of statements and some analytical duties.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

coding vendor invoices; matching invoices to PO's and ensuring correct codes are used; entering and posting vendor invoices into the system; weekly EFT and cheque runs; responding to queries from suppliers/trades; reconciliation of vendor statements; credit card reconciliations as well as verification of WCB compliance.

This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller and indirectly to the Controller.


What will you do?
Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role. There will be more, but we can discuss that in person.

  • Performs all accounts payable functions including the timely payment of all trade and quick pay payables, reconciliation of vendor statements and addressing queries as they arise.
  • Ensures all WCB clearance letters and Insurance certificates are maintained/updated before releasing payments to trades.
  • Ensures the accuracy of the paperwork provided by Midwest sites.
  • Maintain the vendor database in property management software (MRI).
  • Track utility consumption by property.
  • Other projects and activities as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of accounting procedures, practices, and methods as it relates to the AP function.
  • Real Page and MRI experience considered an asset
  • Ability to provide and express information in a clear, concise manner in both verbal and written formats and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, trades and the public.
  • Highly customeroriented, both internally and externally
  • Strong team player who can adapt to changes quickly and is driven to improve the existing workflows for a more efficient and effective department.

Required Education, Training, and Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years experience in an AP position
  • Accounting or Bookkeeping diploma or several years experience in this role (greater than 5 years).
