Reporting to the Life Enrichment Director, the Community Transportation bus driver will be responsible for driving Tenants to booked appointments, fun outings, shopping trips etc.

_ WHAT YOU'

LL DO:
_

Coordinate, plan daily bus trips with the support of the Life Enrichment Director.
Support the tenants with helping put on seat belts, folding walkers, carry parcels.
Safely secure tenants who are in wheelchairs.
Actively and effectively facilitate programs within the Community when not driving. Eg clubs and activities inside the community.
Be understanding and flexible in that this responsibility includes switching between day and evening to provide opportunities to the Elders throughout the whole day including weekends.
Becoming a team member and activity participating on a neighbourhood meeting
May be required to perform other duties and functions related to this job description not exceeding above stated skills and capabilities.

_ What You Need to

Be Successful:
_

Class 4 or 2 Driver Licence
Clear and Safe Driving record
Ability to demonstrate empathy, concern, and interest in providing quality care and service to elders.
Ability to communicate with welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
Ability to speak another language is considered an asset.
Ability to interrelate well with others and establish positive relationships with elders, their families, other staff members, volunteers, and the public.
Ability to adapt quickly in a progressive changeoriented environment.
Maintains interest in learning more about persondirected care.
Ability to manage the associated physical, emotional, and psychological demands of the work involved.
Ability to physically life 40 lbs, which include pushing/pulling, to assist Elders in wheelchairs onto the bus.
