Job Description:


Kayla's Children Centre provides education, therapy, recreational and respite services for children with a wide variety of special needs within a Jewish cultural setting.

We are looking for a passionate, creative Occupational Therapy Assistant for our therapy clinic.

Our Therapy Clinic offers a variety of therapies to the community and school, including; physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech, music, ABA as well as a biking program.

Graduate of a recognized OTA/PTA program.


Experience:

At least 1 year experience working with children with special needs.

  • Knowledge of developmental disorders in infants and children.
  • Knowledge of a variety of treatment intervention models.
  • Experience in an interdisciplinary setting focusing on familycentered therapy.
  • Experience with equipment provision, augmentative communication,

Competencies:

  • Must possess sound judgment, tact, initiative and flexibility in adapting to a variety of intervention settings under significant workload expectations.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with families and professionals is essential.
  • Proof of immunizations, including COVID19 vaccinations

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare, organize and conduct individual and group therapeutic activities with assigned clients/students under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Assists OTs with treatment programs/groups.
  • Maintains accurate and complete client records, statistics and other data as required by the program policies and procedures.
  • Maintains OT department, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains sanitization and cleaning standards as per department policies.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$24.00-$32.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
