Compass is seeking a Junior HSE Manager.

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Junior HSE Coordinator will be responsible to assist with the daily coordination of the company health, safety, and environmental management system.

Working in conjunction with the HSE Coordinator, the Junior HSE Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing administration, and implementation of the company HSE programs and activities.


What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Foster HSE as a core value to the Compass corporate culture
  • Ensure adherence to company HSE Policies
  • Collaborate on the development of HSE Procedures and Practices
  • Collaborate on the development of HSE Bulletins and Alerts
  • Collaborate on the development of Hazard Assessments
  • Participate in the Incident Investigation Process
  • Ensure the timely completion of Worker's Compensation reporting.
  • Ensure HSE Board information is maintained and up to date.
  • Responsible for maintaining HSE documentation, SDS Manuals and Training Matrix
  • Coordination of internal and external Training initiatives
  • Coordination of HSE testing initiatives including hearing, pulmonary and postincident
  • Participate in and support company HSE meetings.
  • Maintain Personal Protective Equipment supplies.
  • Administrative duties such as organizing, scanning, and filing of all documents.
  • Provide advice on a broad range of HSE issues and decisions.
  • Coordinate new hire HSE orientations and facility tours.
  • Participate in company compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in the Reception coverage schedule.

_ _What You Bring**Your education and experience include

  • Completion or active enrollment in a postsecondary occupational health and safety program, equivalent postsecondary education, noncredit occupational health and safety program, or trades certification.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an HSE role with experience in the administration of HSE programs, delivery of HSE training, workshops and meetings, collaboration with key stakeholders for the implementation of HSE initiatives preferred.
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation, and Code.
  • Experience with trades, manufacturing, and/or field service divisions preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with team members and other departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organization, planning, timemanagement, multitasking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with management, employees, visitors, and government agencies.
  • Fluent with reading, writing, and speaking English.
