Your Opportunity
As a Payroll Administrator you have an exciting opportunity to join our Canadian Payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the incumbent's primary role is to perform payroll administration duties including input and processing. This experienced level payroll support position is geared towards a detail-oriented individual with demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills. Your Key Responsibilities
- Performing payroll related input, balancing, and reconciliation tasks.
- Completion of termination payouts of employee balances and processing ROE's.
- Accurate calculation and processing of manual paycheques when required.
- Verification of employee information pertaining to new hires and rehires.
- Tracking and maintaining payroll data which includes balancing hours and earnings to payroll register totals.
- Ensuring compliance with all internal and external policies and regulations.
- Researching and resolving employee pay related questions.
- Maintaining a high level of interpersonal skills and customer service when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducting work while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assisting in year end reconciliations related to tax form preparation.
- Maintaining employee files and payroll document controls.
- Displays an indepth ability to resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information using sound judgement and knowledge of payroll processes.
- Performing other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- A solid understanding of payroll legislation in all provinces and territories.
- Experience with automated payroll and timekeeping systems. Oracle knowledge would be an asset.
- Demonstrates organization and accuracy in all work.
- An indepth ability to resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information using sound judgement and knowledge of payroll processes.
- Strong computer and database skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating a high level of customer service.
- Ability to work in a changing work environment with many interruptions and tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work effectively with a team and independently to meet payroll deadlines.
Education & Experience
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years of related experience is required.
- With a PCP designation, a minimum of 2 years of related experience is acceptable.
