    About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President, Risk Governance Lead, internally known as Lead Business Execution Consultant to support Wells Fargo's Regional Chief Risk Office, Corporate & Investment Banking for the Americas in managing risk oversight of enterprise risk programs in region, governance processes, and strategic risk initiatives, as required. The role is based in our Toronto office.

    In this role, you will:

    • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives
    • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
    • Review strategic approaches and effectiveness of support function and business performance
    • Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations
    • Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans
    • Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives
    • Influence, guide and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: risk management, project management, implementation, strategic planning and governance

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of enterprise risk management experience with a financial services company with domestic and international operations
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Solid critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
    • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
    • Experience with corporate and regulatory governance activities and standards
    • Experience with risk assessment processes, metrics and frameworks
    • Strong business and corporate risk acumen

    Job Expectations:

    • Work closely with key risk partners and cross-functional teams to support planning & execution of strategic risk initiatives that are large in scope and complexity that cross multiple risk types. Examples include implementation and enhancement of enterprise risk programs in region, implementation of sustainability initiatives and other emerging risks and change management initiatives, as required.
    • Support the implementation of risk-based governance programs with cross functional and regional risk partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary.
    • Work closely with key risk partners to support corporate risk governance processes as required. Examples include corporate records retention, business resiliency planning and issue management.
    • Support oversight of Risk Identification & Assessment programs in region including quarterly credible challenge processes for Statement of Risk Appetite, Regional Risk Scorecards and Risk Management Effectiveness Assessments.
    • Develop metrics and track/evaluate performance of programs, services and initiatives, ensuring plans/programs adhere to appropriate policies and regulations and key stakeholder objectives. This includes regular status reporting and ad hoc requests for executive leadership.
    • Ability to support multiple programs/services/initiatives and possess strong relationships and project management skills.
    • Translate strategic initiatives into executable implementation plans including: defining the problem statement and articulating the scope of the solution, identifying impacted areas and components, identifying resource requirements, gathering estimates, defining timeline, and packaging information for presentation to executive leadership.
