Your impact as a Logistics & Warehouse Lead


The Warehouse & Logistics Lead oversees and directs receiving, shipping, warehouse operations as well as international logistics and customs clearance.

They are responsible for ensuring all aspects of warehouse operations function smoothly and ensuring compliance with international shipping standards and regulations.

Experience with Dangerous Goods handling and shipping is required.

This is an individual contributor role to start, with the potential to move into a supervisory/people leader role. This role involves 50/50 split between office-based computer work and hands-on work on the floor.


Warehouse Management

  • Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
  • Ensure high standard of cleanliness, organization and space management is maintained in the warehouse
  • Ensuring business processes for contracted freight companies are adhered to and are designed to meet the requirements of the warehouse and its customers
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by ensuring company standards and practices are adhered to

Inventory Management

  • Control inventory accurately to minimize any inventory value variances/discrepancies
  • Provide stocking recommendations to management
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts or cycle counts and reporting

Logistics

  • Arrange shipment of customer orders for on time delivery, based on promise dates to customers
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
  • Receive products accurately and on time
  • Respond to any shipping discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Investigate damaged goods and discrepancies in receiving, and follow through to resolve the issues
  • Request quotes and look for best cost in shipping products
  • Comply with all Dangerous Goods Regulations
  • Ensure all customs and international trade regulations are followed and documentation completed accordingly
  • Operate the company vehicle (van) as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:


  • At least 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving
  • Experience with international logistics and customs clearance
  • Experience working with dangerous goods
  • Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract
  • At least 3 years of forklift experience with valid forklift certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use the computer and work with MS Office Suite
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills
  • Selfmotivated team player with ability to work in a fast paced environment

Nice to haves

  • Certification or training in International Trade & Logistics
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite)

Location

  • This is a role working out of our Vancouver, BC location fulltime
  • Work hours are 8:00am 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
