Purpose:

Under the direction of the Institute for Technoscience & Society (ITS) Director, the Coordinator supports the planning and coordination of the ORU's operational activities, including events, communications, financial administration and providing administrative support to the Director and the Centre's research projects.

The Coordinator is responsible for the planning, delivery and maintenance of a range of activities associated with research projects, fundraising and ITS outreach activities including developing and updating the ITS website and social media presence across platforms.

The Coordinator supports the ORU in the promotion of the Centre's research to both the campus and external community, including collaboration and engagement with the community.

ITS is an Organized Research Unit that strives to advance research and knowledge mobilization on the relationship between technoscience and society, especially the configuration of social power underpinning scientific claims, medical practices, emerging technologies, and sites of innovation.

The ITS supports interdisciplinary social science and humanities research on the the social study of science, technology, medicine, and innovation.

Education:

Completion of university degree in a field related to research carried out by ITS. Demonstrated knowledge of the field of science and technology studies, or allied fields dealing with social scientific and humanistic studies of science, technology, medicine, and innovation (e.g. sociology, anthropology, history, politics, etc.).

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of related work experience in an academic or related research focused unit. Experience in project management, financial and/or administrative functions.
