We're looking for an ambitious and self-driven Procurement Specialist. You will be responsible for identifying necessary products and services to support daily operations.

Through strategic sourcing, effective contract management, and supportive vendor relationships, this role will ensure business continuity in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:
Reporting to Canada's Manager, Procurement, the incumbent is responsible on the following functions:

  • Plan and manage company's overall sourcing strategy, leveraging industry best practices, commodity experience, sourcing methodology and global partnerships.
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies:
  • Collaborate with operating groups and category managers to establish procurement projects pipeline.
  • Manage / Execute key milestones of pipeline projects.
  • Ensure proper communication of pipeline with key stakeholders, management, finance, and team members.
  • Resolve issues pertaining to pipeline.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the awarded programs:
  • Provide pricing to P2P group for proper PO generation.
  • Ensure supplier is ready to supply on time as scheduled.
  • Communicate timing and pricing to key stakeholders.
  • Manage contract process from generation to final sign off.
  • Understands company's operations needs and requirements:
  • Integrate in CAPEX projects to ensure proper RFx, supplier visibility and execution.
  • Understand commodity markets and mitigate inflation, implement strategies to reduce costs.
  • Coordinate supply chain development to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Build relationships with vendors and key suppliers:
  • Manages supplier relationships.
  • Escalation point to improve supplier performance. (supply/availability, pricing, and quality)
  • Proactively resolves issues (i.e., material shortages, quality issues, etc.) with vendors and internal customers using organizational savvy and critical thinking skills.
  • Negotiate pricing and control costs:
  • Construct proper RFx.
  • Conduct / manage supplier outreach.
  • Collect and analyze bids.
  • Review potential awards with stakeholders.
  • Lead negotiation team with suppliers
  • Implement contract and award.
  • Seeks to reduce dependency on singlesource suppliers through contracts and strategic partnerships:
  • Find and vet new suppliers and review with operations.
  • Qualify the suppliers (Financial, production capabilities, etc. )
  • Make allocation suggestions and oversee implementation.
  • Execute analyses and make suggestions for improvement of overall sourcing strategy.
  • Responsible for gathering, preparing, and managing documents like quotes, proposals and purchase terms and conditions from suppliers. Manage Requests for Information, Requests for Quotes or Requests for Proposal, including schedules of compliance in their details, define the criteria to meet and evaluate the bids from the suppliers.
  • Write the contracts and the related negotiations in accordance with the requirements imposed by legal and financial services.
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices.
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations.
Procurement Specialist requirements and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience in purchasing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of Building Materials and Construction business.
  • Outstanding negotiation abilities.
  • Any experience in SAP, Ariba, Coupa is preferred.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and software skills; unrelenting organization and attention to detail.
  • An agile worker who can adapt to shifting business needs in a fastgrowing environment.
  • Comfortable managing and reporting on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Any additional training or certificate will be considered an advantage.
