    The Opportunity

    This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. We're empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott's diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

    Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics and toxicology.

    This position serves as the primary interface between Abbott Point of Care and our Suppliers, to drive for strategic cost savings, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and support the development of business unit innovation and growth opportunities. The position reports to Sr Director, Global Supply Chain. This position serves as the APOC procurement leader, decision-maker, and influencer to our suppliers. Activities include sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers and vendors, negotiating supply contracts, maintain supplier relationships, and monitor quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied when escalated. This is a high mix, low volume role.

    What You'll Do

    Relationship management with TPMs and global suppliers

    Broad range of contract negotiations from simple to complex across different categories.

    Development and execution of strategies and tactics for multiple categories critical to the business

    Divisional procurement lead/representative in cross-functional team

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree required (Procurement or Supply Chain) - MBA preferred.

    PMP, PMAC, or Supply Chain certification.

    Seven plus years of progressive experience in supply chain/procurement.

    Ability to demonstrate progressive growth throughout your career and a minimum of 5 years of management and leadership experience.

    Understanding of pricing, contract negotiations, trend analysis, building and evaluating metrics is essential.

    Understanding of long-term service agreements.

    Complex contract negotiation experience.

    Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.

    Knowledge of medical devices or large-scale projects would be considered an asset.

    Experience leading procurement in Canada, United States and globally would be an asset.
