We are looking to hire a Head of Business Intelligence and Analytics to support the entire organization, particularly the sales, marketing and ecommerce teams.

Under the supervision of the EVP, Marketing, Ecommerce, the position holder will be responsible for consolidating, organizing and communicating data for all of our sales channels and providing information for strategic decision-making.

You will also be responsible to support our product management teams to identify opportunities to gain new market shares.

Someone who will be a catalyst for our growth, able to power marketing strategy with brilliant customer insights and turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Someone who is passionate and savvy in understanding complex market and customer behavior, highly analytical, a natural data storyteller with a strategic mindset, someone who loves digging into data and putting together complex puzzle pieces - and above all, who is so obsessed with the customer, as we do.


A TYPICAL DAY IN THIS POSITION:

The position holder will assume the following responsibilities:

  • You work with the internal team to create and report on our key performance indicators, bringing together marketing data points;
  • Help the team analyze key potential markets in a highly focused manner to capture the greatest growth opportunities for Pelican;
  • In charge of all ecommerce related reporting and data analysis;
  • Organize data/information effectively to provide clear, actionable insights and enable better and faster decisionmaking;
  • Research external data points for market insights (market share, growing segments, etc.) to solidify our marketing strategy, sourcing partners and the latest insights on data platforms and tools digital;
  • Refine our analytics and segmentation of our target audience to leverage solid insights for growth (personas, etc.);
  • Stay abreast of cuttingedge developments in marketing and customer insights to improve current practices;
  • Conduct market research using our internal databases and data collection tools on different sales channels to identify market trends and opportunities for new products or services;
  • Search for secondary data to obtain relevant information (using scientific articles, articles from general and professional media, comments on social networks and blogs from individuals or professionals, etc.) to support market studies for innovation projects;
  • Carry out agile market research with the aim of understanding the commercial reality and business opportunities in new categories of products and services;
  • Present research and findings in the form of dashboards using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Google data studio so that managers can evaluate business opportunities quickly and efficiently;
  • Plan, design and execute user surveys: in the field during outdoor activities; or on the web in interest groups related to the outdoors;
  • Analyze and synthesize the results of qualitative studies to better understand user needs, obstacles and motivations when adopting a product or service; or to obtain their opinions on the use of a product or service.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU:


  • Experience of 5 years or more in a similar position or any other related position deemed relevant;
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, administration, statistics, actuarial science, maths or other related training deemed equivalent;
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into easytounderstand presentations and translate business needs into analytical requirements;
  • Experience with database and datacube (understanding of it), Tableau, BI/Nectari;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key performance indicators;
  • Knowledge of how major chains operate;
  • Experience with product development processes, an asset;
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written) because a significant part of the work is done in English;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite especially Excel (Advanced excel skills);
  • Organization, autonomous, analytical mind, curious and creative.
