General Accountability:


  • The Business and Performance Analyst will support the Business and Performance team within LRT Operations by serving as the primary contact within the department for written communications. The incumbent will be responsible for drafting written communications, both for internal and external audiences, including commercial letters to Metrolinx. The incumbent will support the LRT Executive Steering Committee and Working Group and all stakeholders to ensure operational readiness.
  • The incumbent will also ensure internal and external reporting follows documented processes and practices as part of the Quality Management System. In addition, the incumbent will develop policies and standard operating procedures to enable the smooth integration of the new LRT mode within the TTC, which will consist of process mapping, documenting and validating current business processes and business requirements. The Business and Performance Analyst will also be responsible for analyzing data for Key Performance Indicator reporting to be included in the CEO's Report, other reports to the TTC Boards and reports to external agencies, including Metrolinx.

Key Job Functions:


  • Assist the Manager, Business and Performance with interpreting operational and commercial data, and ensuring adherence to existing policy, practices, contractual obligations and requirements.
  • Compose, finalize and monitor all external correspondence, including commercial letters and briefing materials, between Metrolinx and TTC.
  • Present to senior management, including department heads and executives on progress reports and LRT issues.
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure changes made to contracts are accurately reflected in the TTC's standard operating procedures and departmental plans.
  • Assist Operations Coordinators with the technical writing of various departmental plans (e.g. resource management plan, operator communication plan, fare revenue protection plan, etc.) as required contractually by Metrolinx.
  • Document business processes and develop procedures for various business units of the TTC, including but not limited to quality management, contract administration, variation analysis, etc.
  • Lead and/or assist with quality management system activities, such as document control, change management, nonconformance resolution, corrective actions, etc.
  • Assist with Root Cause and Correction Action analyses as per the RCCA process.
  • Create report templates and work with system owners to allow for access to systems data as required for TTC reporting purposes.
  • Prepare progress reports, KPIs, presentations and analytical summaries for senior management, using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Analyze data and program information to identify critical areas for improvement and corrective actions as well as other opportunities/efficiencies and assist with the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Initiating and/or updating TTC mobilization schedules and supporting departments to create interdependency schedules.
  • Developing and updating RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Communicated and Informed) matrix and holding stakeholders accountable to the RACI as required. Assisting LRT working group stakeholders to develop work plans, relevant interdependency schedules, and update progress until activities are completed.
  • Liaise with the Metrolinx Project Scheduler to validate relevant TTC milestones and update TTC's internal mobilization schedule respectively.
  • Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
