Vice-President, Finance


SUMMARY OF RESPONSBILITIES:


  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearend financial statements in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Manage the Company's financial statement reporting system by creating and maintaining consolidation reports;
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and help coordinate implementation of new standards;
  • Prepare financial analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts;
  • Monthly variance analysis of costs compared with quarterly forecasts and the annual business plan;
  • Oversee the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for assigned business units;
  • Provide leadership to the team through performance management, daily mentorship and skill development;
  • Manage financial accounting services, including financial statements and reporting, reconciliations, closing balances and tracking of capital projects;
  • Take an active role in the preparation of yearend financial statements while corresponding with external auditors; Manage the implementation of new or revised accounting practices and procedures for reporting;
  • Monitor processes and procedures for internal controls required to support the delivery of accurate financial results;
  • Ability to perform ad hoc projects in support of the Finance leadership team including board level output on a monthly and quarterly basis;
  • Any other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • A minimum of 5 years experience in accounting/finance with a minimum of 2 years managing a team and supporting leadership initiatives;
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Management, Commerce or Accounting/Finance;
  • CPA designation preferred;
  • Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation, corporate taxes, budgeting and forecasting;
  • Strong computer and reporting skills with an advanced proficiency in MS Excel;
  • Experience with cloud based ERP systems;
  • Financial systems knowledge and ability to quickly learn new accounting systems;
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and problemsolving skills;
  • Ability to perform in a fastpaced environment, meet strict deadlines and multitask;
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage priorities;
  • Strong sense of urgency and demonstrated customer service focus.
